Nectar Brasil “Cabeça do Mangue”
Good friend and talented filmmaker Kaya Verruno send me his latest Music video today. WATCH IT HERE! (HD) This for the Brazilian band Nectar. Nectar was formed in July 2004 by a trio of brothers: Antonio, and Keleu Ademir along with friend “Antonio Ribeiro Junior”. Antonio left the band at a certain point and this year the fourth brother Denival “Ten” joined and they changed the bands name to “Nectar Brazil.” The band writes all their own songs with the aim to create environmental awareness in the North of Brazil. “Cabeça do Mangue” stands for “Mangrove Head” and is one of the beautiful locations used in the video. I must say that the Berimbau (Musical bow) instrument gives the song an original sound. FACT: Brazil is one of the fastest growing emerging economies in the world. On top of that they have the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympics around the corner. Currently enormous resorts keep building at the Bahian shores. What use to be a beautiful fisherman towns are now turning into touristic areas. The song Cabeça do Mangue from band deals about the fact that the resorts are polluting the river. And the crabs which they used to eat are disappearing. Through Filmmaker Kaya’s music video they want to create awareness so that they can finish their first studio album" Awake to Life". Hopefully to be found quickly on Spotify and Soundcloud. Kaya Verruno is a filmmaker from Malibu, California with parents from Argentina and Brazil. With a B.A in Cinematography at CSUN.
