Peter Diamandis: Abundance is our future.
I really like the optimistic TED2012 talk from entrepreneur Peter Diamandis a lot. Peter Diamandis speaks about that we’ll invent, innovate and create ways to solve the challenges that loom over us. “I’m not saying we don’t have our set of problems; we surely do. But ultimately, we knock them down.” I have to agree with him on a certain amount of facts that he provides that we indeed have improved things on our planet the last century. But having a closer look at activist Paul Gilding’s TED2012 talk The Earth is full where Paul suggests we have filled up all our livable space on Earth with devastating consequences I feel it’s time for a debate. And TED wouldn’t be TED if that actually happened. Click here for the Paul Gilding and Peter Diamandis debate. I personally feel that much of the advances Peter Diamandis discussed are accomplished through the unsustainable system of capitalism. And I wonder sometimes if there ever will be a suitable alternative to Capitalism. And if such transition would exactly occur. Would a for example Resource-Based Economy or simply a more sustainable Economy ever be possible?
